The nursing staff is available to help medication set-up, injectable medications, foot care, wellness checks and other medical concerns.

Pioneer House, together with Elim Care Center Fargo, was the first certified Eden Alternative facility in North Dakota. The Eden Alternative is a philosophy of elder care that strives to surround our residents with variety, spontaneity and a chance to be needed by others. Our facility pets (a dog, two cats and a canary) are shared by all the residents. Residents have an opportunity to be involved in various community service projects without ever having to leave the facility. Recently they have worked on projects helping the American Cancer Society, Big Brother/Big Sister Program, Children’s Miracle Network, Sullivan Middle School, The Alzheimer’s Association, Birthright, and Churches United For The Homeless. Intergenerational activities are also part of the Eden Alternative philosophy. The kindergarten children from Elim’s Children’s Center come to visit residents for Show And Tell. Each week our residents also have an opportunity to visit the Children’s Center to rock babies
