Ribbon Cutting Celebration

Elim Rehab & Care Center will be hosting a ribbon-cutting and open house to celebrate the opening of their new transitional care/short-term stay rehabilitation wing, called 5th Avenue. In addition, the celebration marks the completion of the first phase of remodeling in the existing building. The ribbon cutting will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, with an open house from 1 to 5 p.m., at Elim Rehab & Care, 3534 South University Drive, Fargo.

The $7 million project began in February 2011. “As a five-star-rated facility by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), we’re delighted to have our physical setting match the excellent care we provide our residents,” noted campus administrator Tim Hager. “With the expanded therapy area, plus the new transitional care wing, Elim offers individuals the specialized transitional care they need after a hospital stay.”

5th Avenue residents will have private rooms, furnished with amenities to help make their short-term stay a pleasant one. Included in each room are flat-screen televisions with cable, mini-fridges and microwaves, plus private bathrooms in each room, along with wireless internet for computers. Residents on 5th Avenue will also have their own neighborhood dining area in the Café on 5th Avenue as well as a family gathering space in June’s Library. “We know these residents’ goal is to go home as quickly as possible,” said Hager. “With therapy next door and well-trained staff, residents will find Elim a better way to transition from hospital to home.”

To help individuals work on the skills needed to successfully return home, the expanded therapy space now includes a therapy kitchen. “We want to help residents be successful when they return home,” said Hager. “The skills they practice in therapy, including the kitchen, will be essential when they return home to care for themselves.”

Elim is an Eden Alternative certified facility, offering transitional care and rehabilitation services, as well as skilled nursing and memory care.

Renovations Underway at Elim Care – Fargo

Every day brings new changes to the Elim campus, as we’re undergoing a major renovation and addition to our facility. The most easily recognized change is the new front entrance, now under construction. It will be a great benefit to residents and families with improved access and accommodations.
