Matter of Balance class participants.
Participants learned many valuable techniques to prevent falls at our recent onsite class.
Special Classes

Our recently held class "Matter of Balance" helped participants view falls and fear of falling as controllable. The class also helped them to set realistic goals for increasing activity, provided ideas on how to change their environment to reduce fall risk factors and promoted exercise to increase strength and balance. This was
co-taught by Valley View Village Home Care Coordinator Lois Lombard, along with coaches Margaret DeSio and Sherry Knox from the Polk County Health Department.

Follow your nose to the rec room for a fresh bag of popcorn!
Friends gather at our recent Popcorn Social.
Socials

Our Popcorn Socials are a "pop"ular event at Valley View Village! Our residents gather together to share some delicious fresh popped popcorn and to visit and socialize together. There's nothing that smells quite as good as fresh popped popcorn!

Our residents enjoy many outings.
Our monthly lunch outings are always a big hit!

Food and fellowship on a chilly fall day!

Community Outreach

In October, Valley View Village particpated in "A Taste of Altoona."
Our theme was "Valley View Village is a Sweet Place to Live."
Our residents and staff provided delicious sweets and our decorated assisted living building made our booth complete!
