Valley View Village Named Business of the Year
Valley View Village was recently honored by the East Des Moines Chamber of Commerce by being named the 2009 Business of the Year. To be considered for the nomination, businesses had to exemplify commitment to, and support, of the East Side community, its businesses, neighbors, workforce and spirit. Valley View will be formally acknowledged for its accomplishments at the chamber's annual dinner on January 14, 2010.
According to Ryan Bomer, President of the East Des Moines Chamber, Valley View is a deserving recipient of this honor. "I think their efforts to not only build a wonderful facility on the East Side but to work diligently to raise capital funds for the project in an effort to keep down the cost of living for its future tenants is extremely admirable in today's world," stated Bomer in regards to the construction of Village Assisted Living. "Valley View Village's commitment also continues to provide new and stable employment for the area residents. I really don't know who doesn't win when Valley View Village is involved."
An involved member of the East Des Moines Chamber of Commerce since 2008, Valley View's dedication to the East Side community has been apparent in the active role they have taken in chamber events and initiatives. "Valley View Village has enjoyed participating in and sponsoring various chamber events," said Shelly Charter, Director of Marketing at Valley View. "The East side community is an incredibly close knit group, and we've really enjoyed our partnership with our neighbors through our involvement in the Chamber."
"I think that it is safe to say that the East Des Moines Chamber and the citizens of the East Side have had, and will continue to have, a wonderful partner in the community for a long time," concluded Bomer.
