Located in Des Moines, Iowa, residents at Valley View Village are truly part of one big family. For over 45 years, Valley View Village has been the senior independent living community of choice for many families, generation after generation.
Home to over 200 residents, we pride ourselves on our commitment to providing only the highest quality of care in a Christian environment. As a continuum of care campus, we offer independent living, home care, assisted living and skilled nursing care including speech, physical and occupational therapies.
We support the physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs of each resident, allowing our staff to care for each resident at their stage of life—wherever that may be.

Independent Living
We have many independent living floor plan options available
At Valley View Village, we offer a variety of independent living options for senior adults. No matter which independent living option best suits you, we have the utmost confidence that you will enjoy our community at Valley View Village. Our independent residents have access to all on-site recreational and spiritual activities. Exterior grounds are maintained by Valley View Village, including lawn maintenance and snow removal. No endowment is needed for any of our independent living options, but a deposit of one month’s rent is required.
Assisted Living
Each month our residents enjoy a Birthday Dinner
Village Assisted Living is a wonderful addition to the continuum of care at Valley View Village. This beautiful 54 unit state-of-the-art assisted living building featuring studio, one bedroom, one bedroom + den and two bedroom apartments opened in early 2010. Since then, many seniors have found a home they love.
Long Term and Skilled Nursing
The Health Center residents enjoy a movie each month with popcorn!
For individuals whose health and physical needs can no longer be met at home, Valley View Village offers excellent 24-hour nursing care. Our innovative programs and services focus on the holistic health of our residents and are always administered by highly qualified staff in a compassionate manner. We also offer short-term skilled care for those who are recovering from a surgery or illness and may need some extra care and therapy before returning home. Valley View Village is a Medicare and Medicaid certified campus.
Memory Care
Within the skilled nursing facility, residents facing the trials of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and related disorders have special needs that can be actively attended to in our safe and secure 12 bed memory care area. The compassionate staff members in the memory care area are specially trained to care for those with memory loss and adapt activities to meet each individual’s capabilities while still providing them with meaningful social interactions.
Therapy
Our specialized rehabilitation unit offers residents physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation therapies six days a week. Through these services, residents work to regain confidence in their physical strength, fine motor functions and speech abilities while working with professional therapists. Our goal is to help you transition from hospital to home.
Chronic and Acute Wound Care
At Valley View Village, we offer chronic and acute wound care for our residents who may be facing these challenges. Chronic wound care manages the pain or other factors associated with ongoing wounds, such as feet ulcers. Acute wound care provides assistance to patients dealing with wounds following a surgery or hospitalization, such as bed sores.
Village Home Care
Located on the Valley View Village campus, our Village Home Care provides services to our residents living in the Garden Cottage Apartments, Manor Apartments and Catered Apartments.For Valley View’s independent residents, it is comforting to have someone close at hand should they have a question about a health concern or need a medical opinion. With our home health care services, our residents can talk with our in-house nurse should that need arise. Village Home Care offers:
• Free assessment and evaluation
• Healthcare services available on an “a la carte” basis (residents only pay for the services they need)
• Assistance in finding more specialized care
• Additional informational resources are available for residents in the Village Home Care office
Village Home Care also offers assistance in determining qualification for Medicare/Medicaid or private insurance coverage. Please note that we do not bill Medicare/Medicaid or private insurance companies, but rather accepts only private pay for Village Home Care services.
