Amenities at Elim Care and Rehab Center
PersonFirst™ Care
In 2006, Elim Care & Rehab Center in Princeton was awarded special funding by the state of Minnesota to implement a unique and innovative care model called PersonFirst™ care. With an enthusiastic staff and the support of the residents and thanks to the guidance and help from Action Pact, we embarked on a culture change journey that is transforming how we care for and enrich our elders’ lives. This change has positively impacted relationships between our residents and staff by returning the decision making power for various daily activities to the residents.
Through our PersonFirst® care model, Elim’s residents have excitedly taken on the responsibility of choosing the daily activities in their household. Some of the elders favorite activities include playing card games, baking together, attending community events and taking trips to the grocery store to purchase food for their next special meal together. Many of our residents also enjoy participating in the Eden Alternative program where they help care for plants and pets in our home.
